Staunton Area Ambulance Service was established in 1977 as a non-profit organization. Currently we provide emergency service to five Fire Protection Districts: New Douglas, Olive, Worden, Troy, and Staunton. Additionally, the organization also provides patient transportation needs from facilities all over the region. The total emergency coverage area is over 200 square miles and has a population of nearly 25,000 residents.

Staunton Ambulance has been affiliated with the Anderson Hospital Emergency Medical Service System since 1985. The ambulance service currently operates 5 Type III ambulances licensed at the Advanced Life Support level by the Illinois Department of Public Health. We moved into our current location in Staunton in 1990 and just recently completed a renovation adding two additional ambulance bays.

Staunton Area Ambulance Service conducts training for Emergency First Responders and EMT-Basic licensure through the Illinois Department of Public Health. Additionally, monthly in-service training and public CPR classes are offered at our facility.
